Just when we thought the northbound migration of Neotropical songbirds had come to an end, we spotted this mid-morning arrival atop the Eastern Hemlocks in the urban susquehannawildlife.net headquarters garden: a Great crested Flycatcher. Its visit was momentary, the paved parking areas, busy streets, and treeless lawns surrounding our little oasis giving it little reason for lingering. But it was, nevertheless, a reminder of the Yogi’s words of wisdom, “It ain’t over ’til it’s over.”
